eTip: Tips for the Holidays and Coming New Year
1. Send Holiday Greetings - at no cost to your wallet.
Consider sending electronic cards this holiday season to those with email. You'll save lots of money and you'll reach many more friends, family members, former, current, and prospective clients, and associates!
Here are a few sites that don't cost to send online eCards:

2. Don't become invisible or silent.
Your career requires you to be visible and vocal. Consider having your own website in your name or a variation of your name. For those of you who already have a personal website or a special section on your company's website, consider adding a blog section. Thought you stopped writing essays once school was over? Wrong! That's what blogs are, essentially essays on whatever you wish to say. Send email promoting your blog of ideas, thoughts, and knowledge of your industry to your former, current and prospective clients, friends, and associates. Also, don't forget to post your latest photos on the website too. That photo on your business card is how old?
The costs to create and continually update a personal website is inexpensive. If you pay for internet access from companies such as Comcast®, AT&T® and AOL®, you most likely get a bit of disk space to create a website. Consider using it.
3. Clean up your database of contacts.
At the beginning of the new year (or at the end of this year), spend some time - over 2 to 3 days - start making calls or send email to people you haven't spoken or written to in a while. Get their updated contact information, catch up on who's doing what, when and where. Use a contact database to keep track of the information and log your notes. Don't have a contact database? Consider downloading one at no cost to you, from CNET's Software Download website, www.download.com. If you use Yahoo! Mail (many of you do), you have a contact database included in your account. Use it!
